Oven cleaning starts with a model number, not a universal chemical recipe. A standard enamel cavity, a self-cleaning oven and a steam-clean model may have different instructions. Check the appliance guide before using a cleaner or starting a cycle. The goal is to remove agreed cooking residue without harming the oven’s components.
Prepare the cool oven
Turn the appliance off and let it cool for manual work. Remove loose food and the racks or accessories that the manual says to take out. Protect the nearby floor and provide the ventilation specified for the chosen method. Tell the service team if the oven is unusually greasy, damaged or has not been used recently.
Follow one approved method
Manual cleaning requires a product approved for the actual interior finish. Self-clean and steam-clean settings are appliance functions with their own preparation and limits. Do not combine a chemical treatment with a cleaning cycle unless the manufacturer explicitly permits it. Gaskets, vents, elements and electronics need particular care.

Manual-cleaning checklist
- Confirm the cavity finish and suitable product.
- Read protection, ventilation and contact-time directions.
- Apply only to permitted areas in the cool oven.
- Remove loosened residue with the approved tool.
- Remove cleaner residue and reassemble as directed before use.
Avoid the common shortcuts
Do not scrape a gasket, spray into controls or assume all racks can remain during self-clean. An abrasive that removes residue can also scratch the finish. Some darkened areas are permanent wear. If an unusual smell or appliance fault remains, stop and seek qualified advice rather than masking it with fragrance.

Booking an oven add-on
Our home-cleaning plans keep oven interiors separate from routine appliance-exterior care. Specify the number of cavities and send photos of severe buildup. The selected add-on price covers its agreed scope; unusual work needs review before the visit. Cleaning is not a guarantee that the cavity will return to a factory-new appearance.
